About the guest:

Dave Cortes, a native Brooklynite, was attending the School of Visual Arts when a fascination with stop motion animation evolved into an obsession with creating the characters. Cortes worked at McFarlane Toys as a staff sculptor before snagging deals with DC Comics, Sideshow Toys, Toy Biz, and Marvel. He became a household name in 2016 with the unveiling of his bronze Captain America in his native Brooklyn to recognize the superhero’s 75th anniversary. Today, Cortes continues to create art in his Park Slope, Brooklyn studio.
