Have You Tried Piquillo Peppers From Spain?
Just wait until you try the first one, and you’ll want to add them to everything!
Spanish food is tasty and bright. Wholesome meals and small tapas become one for an extraordinary meal after another, for breakfast, lunch and dinner. What’s truly special about Spanish food is the quality of its ingredients, and one of the most vibrant is the country’s piquillo peppers (pimientos de piquillo).
Piquillo means ‘small beak,’ and it’s for the pepper’s pointy shape. These are a specialty in Northern Spain, in Navarra, where the peppers have adapted beautifully to the dry weather. Piquillo peppers are practically non-spicy — in fact, they have an almost sweet taste to them, and they’re warm and tangy, always with irresistible smoky undertones.
The best way to enjoy piquillo peppers is in a preserve. Our artisan piquillo peppers are hand-picked, peeled by hand, smoke-roasted and sliced before being bottled, also artisanal with no preservatives or artificial ingredients.
How to enjoy Spanish piquillo peppers? Just wait until you try the first one, and you’ll want to add them to everything! Add them to your tomato sauces or enjoy them over a crispy slice of bread; add piquillo peppers to your sandwiches, burgers and hotdogs or use them to give life to stews and casseroles. Rice, salads or roast chicken, everything tastes better with authentic piquillo peppers!
A little goes a long way with these glamorous peppers, but once you open that jar, they won’t last long, so make sure you always have an extra jar in hand!
